Retrieving correct and fresh information from the open web is a hard problem in search and the one that every AI system now depends on. Today, Valyu outperforms the field.
We tested Valyu’s DeepSearch v2 on two benchmarks: SimpleQA, which measures factual accuracy, and FreshQA, which measures performance on time-sensitive queries. The results show that whether the question depends on stable facts or live updates, Valyu retrieves the right context.

The Benchmark
The Web Search Benchmark is built around two core evaluations:
- SimpleQA – Tests the ability to answer straightforward factual questions using grounded, high-precision retrieval.
- FreshQA – Measures retrieval performance on time-sensitive queries, where accuracy depends on surfacing the most recent updates.
Results
SimpleQA evaluation: Valyu achieved 94% accuracy, Parallel 93%, Exa 91%, and Google 38% on straightforward factual questions.
Valyu’s DeepSearch v2 outperformed Exa across all three tasks by retrieving the most accurate answers to fact-based questions, staying fresher on real-time updates, and consistently ranking high-quality documents at the top.
FreshQA evaluation: Valyu achieved 79% accuracy, Parallel 52%, Google 39%, and Exa 24% on queries requiring up-to-date information retrieval.
That means stronger grounding for AI systems, fewer broken chains of reasoning, and better answers even under time pressure.
